i only said – an update

Mental Health, Physical Health, Creative Projects, and Getting Back

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these. I think the last one I did was around February. Now that it’s summer I can finally tell you a few things to come. I know I haven’t been posting lately and I think the last post I did was about two weeks ago, so it’s been a while! I’m sorry about that, things got really busy on the last few weeks of school and it seemed like I had no time for any personal projects or ideas I had. Plus, work takes up some of my free time so I had no motivation to set aside blog time. I feel like it’s been a month since I’ve done anything on here, but that should change soon! I’ve been going through a lot of things and I will be honest and say that I’ve been extremely stressed out and unhappy for some of my days. But surely that should turn up. I don’t want this to be a negative fest but I will let you know about some things that have been going on.

First off I wanna say that one of the things that has been dragging me down is the lack of running I do. Which will change very soon! Even though I am vegetarian, you can still gain weight. I love my body and I appreciate it, however I have gained some weight in my mid area and I’m self conscious about it. Only because some shorts and pants that I got in the beginning of the year don’t fit me as well. It’s really tight in the stomach area. Once I start running (which is tomorrow), I should be able to trim off just a little bit of weight. You should always love and appreciate your body, and treat it with respect- it’s one of few things you can call you.

I also wanted to start going to therapy. There are some things I need and want to talk and work with a professional. A good friend of mine recommend me her therapist that is really close to where I live. I’ve been meaning to go to therapy for about 3 years but never got around to it. I think it’s important to seek help if in need or out of curiosity.


On the creative aspect of things…

I have a few things in mind that I want to work on. One is my music, I already made a song and I’m planing to get two or three more songs out there for you holliesongbird fans. I got you 😉

Next is some photography projects! OOOOoooooo! I’m also considering connecting that with my First Impressions interview series, but I might make the photography a separate thing. I’m really excited about it, and honestly not sure if this ideas is any good but we’ll see! Keep your eyes peeled.

Maybe I should kickstart my YouTube channel again? Im so sorry it’s been lacking!

There will be a lot more concert and music content, I promise. 🙂


I might consider doing a little bit of a blog design update. I’m not too sure because it takes some planning especially with the type of theme and mood I’m going for. I also like to do everything myself, and I want to stay true to that.  I know that holliesongbird.com  has gone through many changes but starting a fresh new look might spice things up a bit. If you would like to see a new design just let me know in the comments below.

Collaborating! Is a new thing I would like to start doing. I did it once with one of my concert posts for Soccer Mommy and I really enjoyed the fact of putting other people’s work on my blog. So if you are a writer, designer, artist, photographer, or anything. Just let me know if you would like to take part in Songbird. I think that would help me out a lot and I am excited to connect with other artists and creators.

So far this is everything I can think about that I wanted to get off my chest. There are some personal things but that is for me to keep. ❤
