Hey guys, I’m back…

from a few weeks of traveling and listening to music throughout the way. I’m excited to be back and I hope you’ve checked out my Lengths To Body Love article, a new series I wanted to start. Now, on to the Songs Of The Week. There’s nothing too new here but I hope you enjoy the songs I’ve been playing over and over.

High by The Cure

I’ve fallen in love with this song all over again. I think what makes me go gaga is the lyrics. They’re so playful and sweet and as Continue reading “SOTW #89”

Honestly…

The only person I’ve been listening to every day since April 6 is: KALI UCHIS

Who cannot love a Queen like her? She is by far one of my favorites music icons ever. I can’t even remember the first time I heard of her. I’m pretty sure I wrote a post about her as a new artist discovery.

I know Cardi B came out with a new album on the same day but I have yet to listen to it. Kali Uchis was here first for me and I can’t let my Colombia Queen not get her light to shine.

ISOLATION in its entirety is beautiful. Song after song she surprises me and makes my ear holes cry for more. These are a couple of songs that are my favorites (excluding her singles released before the album release)….

Hello, My Birdies! This past weekend was good and weird at the same time.

Yesterday I saw the movie Isle of Dogs and I realized today what song caught my attention. I’ve heard this song before a long time ago and hearing it again in the movie and then this morning on my discover weekly I knew it had to be one of my Songs of the Week!

I Won’t Hurt You by The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band

This song gives me so much The Zombie and The Velvet Underground vibes. I miss listening to “Wes Anderson” music. I should get back into that.

Young In the Garden by Sexy Girls

Blood Under My Belt by The Drums

I really want to listen to their latest album “Abysmal Thoughts”. I heard another one of their songs and hands down I need to listen to it.

That’s it! I hope you like these song selections! If you have any recommendations just let me know and I can feature you!

Give it a listen, give music a chance!

Hello! Happy First day of spring. I would have posted a new playlist today but I am behind on my SOTW! But don’t worry, a new playlist will be published this week!

Lately, I’ve been listening to a mixture of song and artists, so nothing in particular.

Most of these songs are on a playlist I made where I save new songs to show to you guys. Pretty much all of these will appear on the Spring Break Playlist…

These past few days I’ve been listening to some new songs and have non stopped obsessing over. Some songs old and some songs pretty new. For this past week, music has been a big stress reliever now. I always make time for music and from listening to these songs it has inspired me to write a new one for myself. I’m not sure when but I will start the process soon, maybe this spring break or something. Anyway, here are the newest songs of the week!

All the songs from MGMT’s Little Dark Age album

Okay, I had no idea that they released a new album. I’ve been craving for listening to something new and this served me well. Honestly, all the songs are amazing, please go check it out!!!

For this week’s Songs of The Week, it is sort of scattered all over the place. I feel like I haven’t had time to enjoy any of my music due to a past stressful week with exams and other stupid problems.

First I’ve been going back to my favorite Mac Demarco! (heh heh surprise!). I’ve been listening to his demo’s for the album Another One. These are my picks from there:

This week I decided to listen to a new artist that I keep seeing sponsored posts about. It’s this guy called BØRNS. I’m pretty sure most people have seen his recent album cover, maybe even a poster around the streets of Austin. I was on the bus on my way to go to class and I felt that listening to my library was too usual for me and I remembered that I haven’t listened to BØRNS. I listened to the songs consecutively and I have to say, I really did enjoy it. I didn’t have any preconceptions or expectations to his sound. I was so nice to just listen to something without hearing it before in a single or something.

I really liked…

This week was the start of school. I went through some crisis with classes, registration, and financial aid. However, I prevailed! I heard some devastating news about Dolores O’riordan. The main singer and iconic voice of the Cranberries has passed away.

So recently I’ve been reminiscing two of my most favorite songs from The Cranberries

The Cranberries – Forever Yellow Skies

The Cranberries – Dreams

I shocked me to hear this news. Her voice has always been one of my inspirations to sing. She was a fashion icon- a beautiful musician and soul. Her music brings so much nostalgia when I was little. I remember being in the car and my mother playing their songs on the radio. I remember getting my first iPod and my Dad putting songs by The Cranberries.

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

I’ve been slightly inactive, but since it is the holidays I haven’t been thinking much about these posts. I have been experimenting with making my own MUSIC! Yes, I have! Finally! With all the time I have, I decided to pull out my MPK and start making something. Of course, it might be sometime before its polished and I release it out on my SoundCloud, but it’s a start.

Now

Told You So by Paramore

Waiting Room by Rex Orange County

Prune, You Talk Funny by Gus Dapperton

Hello! The beginning of this week was pretty stressful. I still have one more assignment left to do and hopefully, I can get it done without burning a hole in my brain. I meant to post yesterday but time was too precious. What I’ve been listening too lately are three artists. Two of them I discovered not too long ago.

Blue Coupe by Twin Peaks

I know this was like one of their first top five songs, but this is a really good one. This is a feel-good song.

Next song is…actually a collective. It’s a whole album by…

Triathalon with their album Nothing Bothers Me

a3095410065_10

Next is a song by Sufjan Stevens

Mystery of Love

I hope you enjoy these songs! I’ve been so stressed lately, these songs sure do help tone it down.

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

Hello!!!!!! This is sort of my week day of class so I am pretty excited for the break. This weeks songs of the week have been…

Micheal Cera’s newest release Best I Can made for the new 2017 romantic-documentary Dina. I discovered this song a while back when it was first released. Since then I have fallen in love with this song. There is this type of innocence and tenderness of love you can hear and it is just so beautiful to the ears.

Best I Can by Micheal Cera feat Sharon Van Etten

Another song I’ve been listening to is…

I Was a Fool by Sunflower Bean

Two Extra Pumps Of Bliss by Enjoy

I’ve really enjoyed these songs a lot. It was something new and fresh to find and I hope to find more songs. If you want to hear more songs and different albums please go read my post here.

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

Albums and Songs I (you) Need to Listen To

Albums and Songs I (you) Need to Listen To

Hello. So like I said so much music has been a big factor and friend in my life. Recently I have been introduced to many new songs, artists, and albums and I feel that I should make a list of these things just so we could be on the same page in the music vibe. That reminds me- I have a lot of books to read. Maybe I should make a book club or something. I know that I want to read a book during the Christmas break, and especially the summer break. Oh, I can not wait for the summer. So much is going to happen and I am so excited.

Now about music.

I’ve been sort of overplaying my Fallin Down playlist (which you should go check out on the menu), so I’ve been playing absolutely anything and any recommendations on Spotify. So I collected these songs and albums in hope to make a cumulative list.

This is not in any specific order

Albums and EPs

  • Love Child by Enjoy
  • Funk Way Bounces Vol.1 by Calvin Harris
  • Little World by Zack Villere
  • Is Everything Okay In Your World? by Yellow Days
  • This Is Fine. by Winona Forever
  • Nothing Bothers Me by Triathalon
  • Cold Shower (EP) by Triathalon
  • Boo Boo by Toro y Moi
  • Human Ceremony by Sunflower Bean
  • Vault Vol 3 by STRFKR
  • Apricot Princess by Rex Orange County
  • Ti Amo by Phoenix
  • After Laughter by Paramore
  • Green Juice by Papooz
  • Amo XO by No Vacation
  • Headroom by Men I Trust
  • Super Clean Vol. 1 (EP) by The Marías
  • The OOZ by King Krule (and I need to listen to Six Feet Beneath the Moon again)
  • American Boyfriend by Kevin Abstract
  • Underwater Pipe Dreams by Inner Wave
  • Yellow and Such (EP) by Gus Dapperton
  • Powerplant by Girlpool
  • Blonde by Frank Ocean
  • Freudian by Daniel Caesar
  • Utopia by Björk
  • Dedicated To Bobby Jameson by Ariel Pink
  • SATURATION by BROCKHAMPTON
  • Goblin by Tyler the Creator (I’ve heard some of these songs but I want to listen to it as a collective)

Singles

  • I Was a Fool by Sunflower Bean
  • Tepid Soul by Poppy Ajudha
  • Love Falls Down by Poppy Ajudha
  • Mind Fields by No Vacation
  • Hope To Be Around by Men I Trust
  • Tail Whip by Men I Trust
  • You Deserve This by Men I Trust
  • Lauren by Men I Trust
  • Double L by Club Kuru
  • Best I Can by Micheal Cera feat. Sharon Van Etten

It is a long list, but that’s the point. I want to constantly immerse myself in new music. I know some of these artists already and have heard few of these albums. However, I want to go back on some and really listen to them and enjoy them in its entirety. I’m not sure where to start. Maybe I’ll make separate playlists with the albums divided.

I hope you follow me and listen to these selections!

Give it a listen, give music a chance.
