Honestly…

The only person I’ve been listening to every day since April 6 is: KALI UCHIS

Who cannot love a Queen like her? She is by far one of my favorites music icons ever. I can’t even remember the first time I heard of her. I’m pretty sure I wrote a post about her as a new artist discovery.

I know Cardi B came out with a new album on the same day but I have yet to listen to it. Kali Uchis was here first for me and I can’t let my Colombia Queen not get her light to shine.

ISOLATION in its entirety is beautiful. Song after song she surprises me and makes my ear holes cry for more. These are a couple of songs that are my favorites (excluding her singles released before the album release)….

Playlist: 🌸Springtime🌸

Hello! Tuesday began the first day of spring. To continue our seasonal playlists, I made a Springtime playlist. I would have posted it on Tuesday but I already had another post scheduled for that day. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a playlist but I’ve been working on a project involving playlists (which will come in time). In my opinion, most of the songs are pretty chill. I collect these songs with no a particular thing or idea in mind, just the fact that I really like these songs :). New songs might be added in time or throughout the season. I really hope you enjoy the playlist, Spotify link is below!

Hello! The beginning of this week was pretty stressful. I still have one more assignment left to do and hopefully, I can get it done without burning a hole in my brain. I meant to post yesterday but time was too precious. What I’ve been listening too lately are three artists. Two of them I discovered not too long ago.

Blue Coupe by Twin Peaks

I know this was like one of their first top five songs, but this is a really good one. This is a feel-good song.

Next song is…actually a collective. It’s a whole album by…

Triathalon with their album Nothing Bothers Me

a3095410065_10

Next is a song by Sufjan Stevens

Mystery of Love

I hope you enjoy these songs! I’ve been so stressed lately, these songs sure do help tone it down.

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

Hello!!!!!! This is sort of my week day of class so I am pretty excited for the break. This weeks songs of the week have been…

Micheal Cera’s newest release Best I Can made for the new 2017 romantic-documentary Dina. I discovered this song a while back when it was first released. Since then I have fallen in love with this song. There is this type of innocence and tenderness of love you can hear and it is just so beautiful to the ears.

Best I Can by Micheal Cera feat Sharon Van Etten

Another song I’ve been listening to is…

I Was a Fool by Sunflower Bean

Two Extra Pumps Of Bliss by Enjoy

I’ve really enjoyed these songs a lot. It was something new and fresh to find and I hope to find more songs. If you want to hear more songs and different albums please go read my post here.

Albums and Songs I (you) Need to Listen To

Albums and Songs I (you) Need to Listen To

Hello. So like I said so much music has been a big factor and friend in my life. Recently I have been introduced to many new songs, artists, and albums and I feel that I should make a list of these things just so we could be on the same page in the music vibe. That reminds me- I have a lot of books to read. Maybe I should make a book club or something. I know that I want to read a book during the Christmas break, and especially the summer break. Oh, I can not wait for the summer. So much is going to happen and I am so excited.

Now about music.

I’ve been sort of overplaying my Fallin Down playlist (which you should go check out on the menu), so I’ve been playing absolutely anything and any recommendations on Spotify. So I collected these songs and albums in hope to make a cumulative list.

This is not in any specific order

Albums and EPs

  • Love Child by Enjoy
  • Funk Way Bounces Vol.1 by Calvin Harris
  • Little World by Zack Villere
  • Is Everything Okay In Your World? by Yellow Days
  • This Is Fine. by Winona Forever
  • Nothing Bothers Me by Triathalon
  • Cold Shower (EP) by Triathalon
  • Boo Boo by Toro y Moi
  • Human Ceremony by Sunflower Bean
  • Vault Vol 3 by STRFKR
  • Apricot Princess by Rex Orange County
  • Ti Amo by Phoenix
  • After Laughter by Paramore
  • Green Juice by Papooz
  • Amo XO by No Vacation
  • Headroom by Men I Trust
  • Super Clean Vol. 1 (EP) by The Marías
  • The OOZ by King Krule (and I need to listen to Six Feet Beneath the Moon again)
  • American Boyfriend by Kevin Abstract
  • Underwater Pipe Dreams by Inner Wave
  • Yellow and Such (EP) by Gus Dapperton
  • Powerplant by Girlpool
  • Blonde by Frank Ocean
  • Freudian by Daniel Caesar
  • Utopia by Björk
  • Dedicated To Bobby Jameson by Ariel Pink
  • SATURATION by BROCKHAMPTON
  • Goblin by Tyler the Creator (I’ve heard some of these songs but I want to listen to it as a collective)

Singles

  • I Was a Fool by Sunflower Bean
  • Tepid Soul by Poppy Ajudha
  • Love Falls Down by Poppy Ajudha
  • Mind Fields by No Vacation
  • Hope To Be Around by Men I Trust
  • Tail Whip by Men I Trust
  • You Deserve This by Men I Trust
  • Lauren by Men I Trust
  • Double L by Club Kuru
  • Best I Can by Micheal Cera feat. Sharon Van Etten

It is a long list, but that’s the point. I want to constantly immerse myself in new music. I know some of these artists already and have heard few of these albums. However, I want to go back on some and really listen to them and enjoy them in its entirety. I’m not sure where to start. Maybe I’ll make separate playlists with the albums divided.

I hope you follow me and listen to these selections!

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

These next songs of the week are sort of a surprise for me. Especially since I was surprised by Björk’s newest single. As for the song by The The, I heard it on a trailer for the movie Lady Bird, but I believe I’ve known this song for a long time, I just could never pinpoint what it was called. Well, I hope you enjoy these new songs of the week!

Blissing me by Björk

This song gives me so much inspiration for my future writings. Like I said in a previous post, I can’t wait for Björk’s upcoming album!

This is the Day by The The

That Easy by Yellow Days

This is a song I like to play in my Fallin Down Playlist. He recently released a new album, including this song.

Give it a listen give music a chance.

New Artist Inspiration: Björk Releases New Single “Blissing Me”

New Artist Inspiration: Björk Releases New Single “Blissing Me”

Björk will be releasing a new album Utopia this November 24th. She has released two singles “The Gate” and “Blissing me”

Björk’s latest single released yesterday. Of course, I impulsively dropped what I was doing and clicked the youtube video. At the first ten words, she said I paused the video and threw my phone. She forever will be indescribably beautiful. The lyrics along with what I believe to a harp just filled my insides with this new kind of beauty that I have not yet been able to see and feel since probably her Vespertine album. Of course, I have seen her musical beauty in Biophilia and Vulnicura, however, this beauty that I am talking about is something so pure and innocent. Almost eclectic and emotional. It makes me think of love, relationship, beauty, sex, and passion. Which is pretty much the same feeling I would get when I would listen to Vespertine or the song “Stonemilker” from Vulnicura. The album Vespertine is personally one of my most favorite collective albums of Björk’s, and in this single, “Blissing Me”, I have gotten the taste again of her emotional diary

This week has been incredibly busy and really weird. So much has happened this past week that I want to share with you all. Also I have not been good at keeping track of my poetry challenge. I thought I would be easy but it’s a little hard to keep up. However, I will not stop the challenge. Some days might be missed but I will keep writing. I noticed that I didn’t write for the past two days and it really does make a difference. I will try my best. 🙂

NOW. Back to the Songs of the Week… lately I’ve been really into the band Her’s and weirdly into Minnie Riperton.

What Once Was by Her’s

Speed Racer by Her’s

Now about Minnie Riperton, the song Lovin’ You has been stuck in my head for days. What is funny is that Her’s happened to cover that exact song lol.

The bass lines for these songs are what hooks me. I also love the main singers voice. I’ve known Her’s for a couple of month and my taste has been rubbing off of others especially my boyfriend who fell in love with the song What Once Was.

I hope you guys enjoy these songs! I know I have!

Ps wonderful news is to come soon 🙂

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

For this song of the week I’ve been listening to a lot of Rex Orange County. Reason being is that it’s all my boyfriend has been playing everyday lol. But hey, I like it. We actually stumbled upon him when I was watching music videos for Jakob Ogawa and I saw a video for Rex Orange County, and since then my boyfriend has been hooked listening to him every day. We were surprised to find out that Rex was featured in two of Tyler The Creators songs in his new album Flower Boy. Damn this music world is so diverse and interconnected. I love it so much

Learning about these new artists just feels so rewarding and welcoming. New music is good to expose yourself to.

Can I just say that music is the best thing in the world. Besides peace and happiness, music is the closest thing to this. I hope everyone’s weekend has been good. I hope you got to rest and had time to relax. I got to go back home this weekend which was a wonderful little break from school. I really needed it. But back to the topic! The SOTW are:

You Might be Sleeping by Jakob Ogawa, and Clario

This is a new artist that has popped up in my music station a lot, these are the songs that I can remember so far.

Let It Pass by Jakob Ogawa

He has pretty calm Lo-Fi music which I’m sure anyone would like to listen to. I hope you give these a listen! See you next time!

Now, we’re going to go back to an oldie song. Well, not that old, somewhere in the 2010’s. I remember one summer I was really into two songs of  Foster The People’s songs in their album Supermodel.

I loved playing this song on the ukulele.

Goats in Trees

Another great one of theirs is:

Best Friend

Just hearing these songs reminds me of old memories and a time where music really helped me out,

Now I have two others songs to mention. This one is a new artist favorite in mind:

Really Something by Hector Gachan

And this next one is a favorite in general. I love The Garden twins.

Soaring by Puzzle, twin Fletcher’s project aside from The Garden

****And bonus shout out song to his new album that was released this year.****

I hope you enjoy these selections!

Give it a listen, give music a chance.

Welcome to a new segment of the SOTW.

For this week Ive been listening to random radio playlists and stations based on the songs that I like and artists I follow. Lately I just come upon really great and amazing songs that makes me feel something. The genre is somewhat the same but it makes me happy and feel good. I try my best to listen to a new song every day or every week. Sometimes a new artist finds it’s way to me every day, or even a new album. I got to stay fresh when it comes to music. But I still do love my personal favorites 🙂

Is This What You Can Not Do? by Gold Celeste

Hello, I know it is past mid week but here is some new songs I heard while watching a YouTube video. I would have put something that I’ve been listening to over and over, but I already mentioned those before. Who wants redundancy.

So far I’ve been listening to

Keep Kool by Winona Forever

winona_forever

Surfin’ with U by Selmer

selmer_surfin'

While I was listening to this song it led to a whole station with songs similar to this type of music and I started liking every song that played. I’ll mention them in another post. I hope everyone has a great day! Enjoy

Give it a listen, give music a chance.
