Hello everyone!
I am officially on summer vacation! I finished the last assignment I had and I am free! Lately, I haven’t been listening to music as frequently but I have a few albums that I’m planning to listen to. Plus, the summer means free time so I have all the time to do things.

Hello everyone! Lately, I’ve been working on a lot of things for the vlog and preparing and brainstorming so many ideas! It makes me so excited to show and release it but I know I should probably space out these ideas and content. But back to the Songs Of The Week!

I’ve been listening to a lot of them lately during my workouts and running. I’m still fangirling them since the time I went to their concert. They’re great to just jam to or work out to.
Dreams by The Cranberries
If I were to do a cover of a song I would love to do this one. This is a beautiful song about fall in love for the first time. I love it and it’s a classic.

Part 2: The DAD playlist
I made a playlist inspired by my Dad’s taste in music.
One day while studying for an exam a thought came to me. I was listening to music and I realized how much my music taste has evolved and grown. I had music tasted that ranged from my mom to my dad. The time I would spend with them I remember that music was always involved in the background.
I don’t think my had has ever played an instrument in his life. I also wonder how my Dad, who can’t hold a tune, can produce a child like me that has sung all her life. But I will say, my Dad LOVES music. I think music helped him in so many ways in his life. He is in the military, and I remember him telling me that he downloaded a ton of music into his iPod so he can listen to it on trips or on the ships he had to stay in. Sucky thing is, he never had the name of the artist on the song files so it took him months until he could find the name of the song he fell in love with at the time. I remember that whenever he would visit he would show me a new singer or band. That eventually became the soundtrack to our time that we got to spend together. He would get my computer and download every song he had on his hard drive to my music library. Sometimes we would play a song so much throughout the day we would call it our Song of the Week, which inspired my SOTW that I write on this blog!
Music is such a wonderful memory maker and influencer. Some of these songs make me feel very nostalgic and wish that I could hear it again for the first time. I tried my best to pick all the best songs and I only wanted to select a certain number of songs. Some of these songs were played for me as a baby, some in my teen years, and some in my adult years.

Hello! This is the second week of school for me and I’m pretty happy with all the classes I ended up with! Lately, I’ve been listening to a new band called Mild High Club. I remember them being one of my recommended bands and common plays on similar stations.
I decided to listen to their first album called Timeline.

I’ve just been listening to this song on repeat every day. I can’t get enough of their psychedelic pop sound. This music genre is pretty addictive for me, but in my defense, it’s calming to me. I like to lsiten to it while I’m walking between classes.

This week was the start of school. I went through some crisis with classes, registration, and financial aid. However, I prevailed! I heard some devastating news about Dolores O’riordan. The main singer and iconic voice of the Cranberries has passed away.
So recently I’ve been reminiscing two of my most favorite songs from The Cranberries

I shocked me to hear this news. Her voice has always been one of my inspirations to sing. She was a fashion icon- a beautiful musician and soul. Her music brings so much nostalgia when I was little. I remember being in the car and my mother playing their songs on the radio. I remember getting my first iPod and my Dad putting songs by The Cranberries.

Winter and New Years Playlist
I made this playlist last year in December. But since its going to be cold for the time being, here is my Chillz playlist of 2017-2018. I won’t be taking out any songs or sorting it, but I will add more songs and artists. If it ends up being too messy I’ll make a more organized playlist. My Spotify Wrapped 2017
I thought it was pretty neat that Spotify did this for their listeners…
Well, it is coming to the end of the Year and I wanted to share with you my wrap up of the year 2017. Now, for a lot of people 2017 has been a shit year- and I can’t agree with you more. But some of it has been really great. I have special people in my life, and I have wonderful music to accompany me. This was the year that I decided to change my major and to do something that I love and that I know I want to improve in. It’s been a year full of music and emotional roller coaster, and what I’m thankful for was making it out in the end.
My top songs of 2017 are definitely me. Mac Demarco has been one of the biggest influences and highlight of my year. I can’t believe I had the chance to see him. I have to admit, it was one of the greatest most surreal moments of my life. Tyler the Creator has been a big hello for me. I remember it was nighttime in Japan and Tyler just released his newest album. I remember my boyfriend reminding me to listen to it. It was so beautiful and we both automatically had our favorites.
With this playlist below, some of the songs I did listen too. But I’m glad they gave me some new recommendations! Rex Orange County and Clario have been reoccurring artists for me and becoming some of my newest favorites.
Sometimes I feel like my mind is overloaded with music. But I think it’s great inspiration for me to write music and get started on projects and writing. I have so many ideas that are waiting to be released. I really should get to work on them!
I hope you guys had a good 2017. I know it must have been hard, but at least the music has been there for mine and your support. Music is love!

Micheal Cera’s newest release Best I Can made for the new 2017 romantic-documentary Dina. I discovered this song a while back when it was first released. Since then I have fallen in love with this song. There is this type of innocence and tenderness of love you can hear and it is just so beautiful to the ears.

Hello. So like I said so much music has been a big factor and friend in my life. Recently I have been introduced to many new songs, artists, and albums and I feel that I should make a list of these things just so we could be on the same page in the music vibe. That reminds me- I have a lot of books to read. Maybe I should make a book club or something. I know that I want to read a book during the Christmas break, and especially the summer break. Oh, I can not wait for the summer. So much is going to happen and I am so excited.
